A Good Atheist Makes A Strong Argument For His Belief System. This Is Beautiful Stuff.
Hello Mr. Kroner I will try to make this brief. I once was a follower of Christ like yourself but began to severely question that belief when everyday I would hear about thousands of children dying in Africa from very easily treatable diseases, a woman drowning her children in a bathtub because “God” told her to, or seeing my seventeen year old cousin who goes to church whenever he can and prays every night before bed go through brain surgery because of a fist sized tumor in his head.
I don’t understand how an all powerful, forever present, all loving being could exist when these injustices and more are forever around us. Also the existence of all other religions in the world greatly contradict your belief in your singular God. How would you explain the existence of all of these different schools of thought including variations of your Christian beliefs such as Catholicism, Protestantism, and Eastern Orthodoxy? Are all of these different types of believers condemned to eternal hellfire as well, are they correct while you and I are wrong, or am I correct while you and the other beliefs are wrong? In my opinion there is no way to tell until the inevitable end and telling someone that you will laugh with Jesus on Judgment Day is a very un-Christian like act and that Jesus would not be laughing with you.
I do however believe that our two ways of thinking can coexist. There is no way that one belief could be standard across the whole world, Christian or otherwise, society would become too stagnant and we need different ways of thinking to balance each other out.
And before you call me an unintelligent, undereducated, and religious hating pig I’ll have you know that I am currently studying for a degree in automotive engineering, spend at least a few hours of my time every month doing volunteer work with the local homeless shelter, and have a very healthy and respectful relationship with Jehovah’s Witness fiance. I know that I probably won’t be able to convert you today but I hope that at the very least I was able to convince you that not all atheists are out to tear your beliefs down or destroy what you love and not all of us deserve to burn in the eternal fire.

well thought out arguments from an almost atheist. I’m surprised you didn’t comment Don.
there are two problems faced from theism. the first is religion, the second is belief (i.e. god)
this person has done the very intelligent thing of realizing the flaws with religion as being a human, flawed body and has therefore abandoned it. however if i am comprehending correctly then they still believe in a deity, oh dear, keep trying, you’ll get there, belief is the only sickness you on your own can cure.
I think that you will that most atheists and agnostics follow the same line of thinking as this individual. I sometimes find it difficult to explain my beliefs and after reading this piece of writing I think that at least my reasoning for deviated from Christianity as a belief system has been summed up rather nicely. It is a common misconception that atheists strive to hurt Christians and other believers by attempting to make them lose their faith. Personally, I couldn’t care less what other people think as long as their believes don’t impede on my own rights as a human being. I have no animosity for anyone who chooses to participate in organized religion, but personally that way of life has lost its appeal to me. I admire the persistence with which you created this website; your devotion is commendable. Although I disagree with a lot of these anti-atheism sentiments, I have no harsh feelings at your expressing them.
