Check it out. It’s what you’re experiencing when you “simply pray to Jesus” and receive his help and guidance. You ::believe:: you’re getting help, and thus you feel as though you can accomplish that which you thought to be impossible.

Personally, I feel like this is self-defeating. You tell me: How does it feel knowing that you’ve gone through life thinking that you can take credit for absolutely nothing you’ve accomplished? I look back at my life, proud of my accomplishments, thankful for those people that have helped me along the way, and happy that I’ve been able to help a few others along as well. This is what people do. This is how we function and progress. When you break it down, people (without God) help each other succeed. You’ll find that at the roots of Christianity as well; it’s the reason it has been so popular over the years. It brings people together and provides them a means to give and receive help to/from their peers.

I am an atheist, and I am happy. I know Christianity quite well. I’ve read the bible several times, and went to Catholic school for seven years. I also know that it cannot be true. Having read your sight, I can safely say that I get along through life better, more appreciative, and happier than you, based on some of these atheist bashing articles. Are you ever happy? Or do you spend all of your time resentful of the fact that there are people at there who disagree with you.

I know you feel sorry for us. Personally, I feel sorry for you. You live this life in servitude based on a promise made thousands of years ago by a man who told you he could make you immortal for a mere lifetime of devotion (and a donation every now and then). A crack addict on a street corner told me that once as I walked by, hoping to score some money from a gullible passerby… I handed him the sandwich I was eating, instead. Perhaps you should have done the same, instead of pledging the only thing you own that’s valuable to him… your time on Earth.
