Atheism Is Not Evil, Atheists Do Good and Live Fulfilling Lives?
Comments(5) Atheism is not evil. Atheists do good, mean well, have fulfilling lives and love, but do all of these things because we want to, because in our hearts we know it is the right thing to do and NOT because we believe we will burn in the fires of hell if we don’t. Atheism, for me, is about making a stand, being resilient and independent.
I do not need to ask God for forgiveness, I ask myself and that is much more punishing. I do not shed my problems and guilt, i live with them and bear them everyday. I am stronger for my atheism. I do not, and will never, believe that humanity needs God to do good. The biggest enlightenment is knowing that I am inherently good, not just good because I live in fear of a deity.
Atheism may not be evil, but that doesn’t make it good either. Sure you may do good acts, but aren’t you secretly gratifying your own ego? What’s the point of doing any good at all if there’s no God there at the end, anyway?
Do you really believe that you aren’t scared of going to Hell? Have you not awoken from a dark nightmare, fearing that you were about to die?
The biggest enlightenment of all is knowing that God is there and he loves us all, no matter how much people like you abhor Him.
i doubt he has those nightmares come from believing in a hell (seriously, dreams are unresolved emotion or unfulfilled ideas)
how does atheism gratify our ego? do you know what an ego is? the id is the life drive, the libido , the one that wishes to go out, have fun, sex drugs rock & roll etc, the superego is the ultimate moral, it must do everything perfectly. both of these are very powerful and they are kept in balance by the ego, the peace maker.
