Actually this is a fairly uneducated thing to say. In all studies I’ve come across (quite a few) on this subject, it is more than suggested that poor people and people with low or no education are more likely to be smokers. They are also more likely to smoke more than less poor or more educated smokers.^1^2

Also, in the US, according to raw data from the 2004 General Social Survey^3, those with graduate degrees were the least likely to believe in the afterlife or the Bible as the word of God, suggesting a link between religious disbelief and higher educational attainment. There are many other reliable sources to support these finds, but reliable sources isn’t really your thing is it?

Now, I could leave you to do the math, but since you, as a religious person, are less likely to figure this one out due to your inferior IQ (In general 5,89 pts. lower than an atheist ^4, although I’m confident you score a lot lower than that having read your addlebrained guff.), I’ll help you. The reasonable claim would be to suggest that religious people smoke more.

The correlation between being religious/non-religious and consuming more/less alcohol, I’m sorry to say, I don’t know much about. That’s why I don’t make any ridiculous claims on the subject matter.

Most of them like to chain smoke? And they’re alcoholics?

This may very well be the most ignorant thing I’ve ever heard from a religious idiot. And that is saying something. My uncle is religious and he chain smokes like mad. Oh, and did I mention? He is the religious one.

I don’t smoke and I am not an alcoholic. I care about my health. You have got to be one of the biggest morons it is ever been my misfortune to come across.

i am a very outspoken anti-theist and i just had to look up Christopher Hitchens on google.

i do not smoke, i drink sparingly (my current bottle of Johnny Walker Blue Label has lasted me about 2 1/2 years now.

you seem to think that we worship the authors of books supporting our view

do you worship the authors of the bible (i mean the real ones not the whole mathew mark etc ones.)

“recognize Christ Jesus as the only God in the game.” so there is no god, just the son of god, who therefore cannot exist because you just said that god does not exist. well done, its not an argument i would have chosen but it works

by being religious you are damaging your mind to a massive extent.
