Christopher Hitchens is a profoundly gifted writer, thinker, philosopher, and literary critic we would all do well to elevate to the highest levels of our society. If this cancer gets the better of him, then an irreplaceable contributor to humanity and civilization of the first magnitude will have gone out. Let us do what we can to help him, and by doing so, help ourselves.
